Vancouver — Aimed a testing the downdip extension of surface mineralization discovered at the Nickelby claims, partners Wolfden Resources (YWO-V) and Jonpol Explorations (JON-T) have launched a drill program over the Sapawe platinum-palladium property near Thunder Bay.
The companies are targeting the area where previous sampling by government geologists returned 1.73 grams palladium, 0.29 gram platinum and 0.19 gram gold per tonne.
The showing, measuring 500 metres by 200 metres, is a coarse-grained ultramafic spotted with pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite.
The latest prospecting program also returned up to 1.77% copper, 0.27% nickel, 1.56 grams platinum, 1.99 grams palladium and 0.56 gram gold from nearby road rubble.
Three samples from the Whit area returned up to 0.36% copper, 0.05% nickel, 1.02 grams platinum, 1.29 grams palladium and 0.35 gram gold.
