Drilling by Band-Ore Resources (BAN-T) has returned more anomalous values from the Thorne gold project near Timmins, Ont.
The Burlington-based junior recently sank 12 holes to follow up a drill program completed earlier this year. Holes in both programs are collared nearby the Golden River deposit, which entails two zones hosting combined inferred resources of 4 million tonnes grading 3 grams gold per tonne.
Holes GW-03-1 to -6 were collared southeast or north of the Golden River zones to test geophysical and geological targets. The best result was 0.77 gram over 6.6 metres of altered sediments and felsic intrusive porphyry.
About 2 km south of Golden River West, holes 7 and 8 cut through as much as 1.5 metres of altered felsic intrusive porphyry averaging 0.44 gram. The results are similar to discovery hole 1, which was drilled earlier this year and averaged 0.5 gram over 5.4 metres.
About 1 km south of Golden River East, holes 9, 10 and 12 also returned anomalous results, though here mineralization is associated with a zone of sericite-fuchsite-quartz-carbonate alteration. Hole 11 was collared further to the south to test the stratigraphy there, but returned even lower values.
Band-Ore plans to drill another 3,000 metres to test other targets in the area.
