Jilbey extends Bissa Southwest zone

Reverse-circulation drilling by Jilbey Gold Exploration (JLB-V) has significantly extended known gold mineralization at its Bissa property in Burkino Faso, west Africa.

The Bissa Hill deposit has grown by 1.5 km and the Bissa Southwest area has been extended by about 125 metres.

Four holes drilled into zone 1 of the Bissa Southwest area are highlighted by a 3-metre intercept grading 25 grams gold per tonne. This intersection plus another 7-metre interval grading 6.2 grams gold are included in a 37-metre intercept grading 4.6 grams gold per tonne.

Another hole cut up to 35.7 grams gold over 1 metre. Three other holes cut 10-29 metres grading 2.25-6.86 grams gold. Included in these intersections were 2-5-metre intervals grading as high as 6-17.8 grams gold per tonne.

The Bissa Southwest zone 2 area has been cut over a 250-metre strike length. Three holes in this zone cut 10-27 metres grading 1.2-3.89 grams gold.

Holes were drilled to an average 100-metre depth. One hole failed to cut significant gold.

The Bissa Hill deposit was tested along a 1.1-km strike by 14 fences spaced 80 metres apart. Each fence comprised two holes spaced 50 metres apart. Ten of the holes cut from 10-25 metres grading 1.02-2.21 grams gold per tonne. Two holes cut high grades: up to 2-metres grading 21.9 grams gold in one (this intercept is included in a 7-metre interval grading 13.2 grams gold) and 2 metres grading 14.15 grams gold per tonne in another.

Bissa Hill has also been tested by about 450 20-metre-spaced rotary-air-blast drill holes. The holes were drilled to about 40 metres depth. Of about 350 holes, sixteen cut at least 10 metres, and up to 26 metres, grading 0.86-3.46 grams gold. Two holes cut 6-metre wide intervals grading 9.9 grams gold and 11.9 grams gold per tonne respectively. Another 30 holes cut significant intercepts from 2-8 metres wide grading 1.01-9.75 grams gold per tonne. Several holes cut two to three intercepts containing significant gold. Ten holes ended in mineralization.

Bissa mineralization has been intersected over at least 5.5 km along the Sabce shear zone. Both the Bissa Hill and Bissa Southwest zones remain open in all directions.

The company plans to test additional geochemical anomalies along the shear zone’s 30-km extent.

Jilbey is earning a 70% interest in the 900-sq.-km Bissa Hill and Zandkom permits by completing a feasibility study on the properties. The property is optioned from GEP Mines, a private company incorporated in Burkina Faso.
