Geophysics identifies targets for Romios

Romios Gold Resources (RG-V) has recently identified drill targets, following airborne and ground geophysical surveys on two of its properties in the Sudbury area, Ont.

Early this year Romios staked the 63-sq.-km Sudbury West Basin property in McKinnon and Mongowin townships near Espanola. A 584 line-km airborne magnetic and electromagnetic (Fugro Megatem) survey has been completed, resulting in the identification of four anomalous conductive zones. Ground geophysics (magnetic, horizontal loop electromagnetic and induced polarization) has been carried out on these zones. The property is underlain by gabbroic rock.

A separate helicopter-airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey was completed on the Baldwin-Shakespeare project, located in townships with the same respective names. Romios optioned the 11.6-sq.-km, (72-claim) property in early 2004. The survey was flown at an altitude of 30 metres and with 100-metre line spacing. Selected portions of the Sudbury West Basin property were also covered. Four areas of anomalous conductivity correlate with magnetic trends. Horizontal loop electromagnetic surveys were completed over three of the Aerotem anomalies. Drilling is set to begin in mid-July.

The Baldwin-Shakespeare property is underlain in part by gabbro. A brecciated quartzite, along the contact of a gently dipping gabbro sill, contains a number of copper occurrences and an altered carbonate-rich mafic volcanic-gabbro unit also hosts copper mineralization.

Romios has recently negotiated an option agreement on a 0.6-sq.-km property in Baldwin township, contiguous with the Baldwin-Shakespeare property.

As of March 31, the company had 9.7 million shares outstanding.
