International Wayside cuts more gold at Cariboo

Vancouver International Wayside Gold Mines have intersected more gold 2,000 ft. northwest and along strike of the Bonanza Ledge discovery on the flank of Barkerville Mountain, near Wells B. C.

Wayside reports that the best values intersected 52 ft (51 ft. true thickness) grading 0.67 oz gold per ton in hole BC02-03. The best intersection in hole BC-02 was 15.5 ft. averaging 0.384 oz gold and in hole BC-01 it was 0.116 oz gold over 3 ft.

The 2002 drilling campaign is focusing on extending the BC Vein and Bonanza Ledge trend to the northwest. So far the trend has been traced for 4,100 ft along strike and 1,000 ft. down dip. The trend remains open in all directions. Assays for drill holes BC-04, 05, 06 and 07 are still pending.

BC-01 and 02 were drilled on section 17,800 E, which is a 600-ft step-out from drill hole BC-20 and 21 drilled last year. Both holes intersected five intervals of gold mineralization. Detailed results are as follows

Hole BC-01 cut 3 ft grading 0.116 oz. gold starting at a down-hole depth of 150 ft. This was followed by a 10 ft. interval that averaged 0.036 oz. gold starting 181 ft. down hole. Another section averaged 0.058 oz. gold over 5 ft. at a down-hole depth of 225 ft. At 349 ft. down-hole a 6.5-ft section averaged 0.055 oz. gold and at 413 ft down-hole a 4-ft. section assayed 0.056 oz. gold.

Hole BC-02 intersected 5.7 ft. grading 0.068 oz. gold starting 141.3 ft. down-hole. This was followed by a 4-ft section that averaged 0.180 oz. gold at a down hole depth of 339 ft. At 414.0 ft. down-hole the core cut a 5.0-ft interval that averaged 0.034 oz. gold. Further down-hole at 441.2 ft. a 4.6-ft section averaged 0.169 oz. gold. At 474.5-ft down-hole, a 15.5-ft. interval averaged 0.384 oz. gold and included a 2.0-ft section that assayed 2.563 oz. gold.The best intersection in hole BC-01 occurred in an ankerite quartz vein containing 15-to-20% pyrite. This vein is situated in a magnetite porphyroblastic unit above the BC Vein. The best intersection in hole BC-02 occurred within the BC Vein. The remaining intersections in both BC02-01 and 02 occurred in the magnetite porphyroblastic unit.

BC02-03 was drilled on section 18,200 E at and angle of minus 45 above drill holes BC-20 and BC-21. The hole cut through the magnetite porphyroblastic unit and intersected eight quartz veins, two of these veins carried grade. Detailed results are as follows;

Hole BC-03 cut 5.5 ft averaging 0.066 oz. gold starting 144 ft. down-hole. This was followed by a 5.9-ft section that averaged 0.049 oz. gold, starting 211 ft down-hole. At a depth of 229 ft. the hole cut 52 ft. averaging 0.67 oz. gold and included a 3.8-ft interval that averaged 3.157 oz. gold.

Hole BC02-04 and 05 were drilled on section 17,600 E. These holes have both been logged and samples have been submitted to the laboratory for assay. Hole BC02-07 is currently being drilled on section 17,400E and hole BC02-06 has been completed and is currently being logged and sampled.
