Aurora Mine property glitters

Guyana Goldfields (GUY-T) has cut significant gold while following the Rory’s Knoll area in a northwesterly direction at its Aurora property, 175 km west of Georgetown, Guyana.

Drilling was highlighted by hole 27, which cut 106 metres grading 5.6 grams gold per tonne at a down hole depth of 432 metres.

This interval is included in a 135-metre intercept grading 4.75 grams gold per tonne. This interval is the deepest to date, with a vertical depth of about 350 metres.

In addition hole 27 cut several narrower zones, highlighted by 29 metres grading 2.1 grams gold per tonne at 59 metres down hole.

Two other holes also hit multiple zones. The most significant in hole 26 cut 5.6 metres grading 20.58 grams gold per tonne at 232 metres down hole. This grade is reduced to 10.6 grams gold when the gold grade is cut to 25 grams gold per tonne.

Hole 28, drilled from the same setup as hole 26, but at 60 rather than 47, cut 40.6 metres grading 1.1 grams gold, at 262 metres down hole, followed by 99 metres grading 1.6 grams gold per tonne at 391.5 metres down hole.

Drilling is ongoing.

The gold mineralization at Rory’s knoll has a rake of 70 to the northwest. Drilling is continuing to test this area, as well as the area between the East Walcott zone and Rory’s knoll.

The 656-sq.-km Aurora property covers the Aleck Hill area, where high-grade gold was mined in the 1940s. Rory’s knoll is 1.6 km east of this past producer.
