Odyssey drills Altintepe

Odyssey Resources (ODX-V) has resumed drilling on its Altintepe gold property in northeastern Turkey.

Plans call for drilling along the entire 1-km strike length of the recently discovered Karakis ridge gold zone. Previous drilling near the ridge cut a new gold zone, and yielded up to 2.2 grams gold over 20 metres, beginning 35metres below surface. The interval also contained a 5-metre zone of breccia (42.5-47.5 meters), averaging 4.94 grams gold.

Recent road development near the hole exposed at least two breccia zones several meters thick. The breccias are hosted by a 30-mete-wide zone of steeply dipping, massive or brecciated iron oxide-rich silica and intensely clay-altered and silicified volcanic rocks. A rock sample from a similar zone at the northwest end of Karakis ridge assayed 1.04 grams gold.

Immediately to the northeast, at the northwestern end of the Seyliktepe ridge, rock sampling yielded between 1.04 and 6.9 grams gold. Odyssey says the ridge appears to host a parallel, but longer, zone than that at Karakis.

The ongoing drill campaign will also test Seyliktepe plus several other targets elsewhere on the western part of the property.
