Vancouver – Firesteel Resources (FTR-V) has further expanded copper and gold mineralization on its Copper Creek project, located about 50 km northwest of Telegraph Creek in northwestern British Columbia’s Stikine Arch region.
The latest drill holes, 15 and 16, intersected 117 metres grading 0.36% copper and 0.2 gram gold per tonne, and 84 metres averaging 0.32% copper and 0.2 gram gold, respectively.
The drilling, successfully testing the thick supergene enrichment zone, has extended the mineralized zone about 200 metres south of the previously tested area.
Trenching also sampled the supergene blanket returning intervals of 30-to-72 metres grading from 0.32%-to-0.7% copper and up to 0.23 gram gold.
The copper mineralization, being primarily secondary, is comprised of malachite, azurite and chalcocite. Testing conducted last year showed high leachability, prompting contemplation of the project’s onsite copper cathode production potential.
The company has now traced the mineralized zone at Copper Creek over 350 metres in length, 250 metres in width and to a depth of 250 metres, remaining open in all directions.
Firesteel Resources has a market capitalization of around $7.3-million, based on its reported 27.2-million shares outstanding and recent 27 per share trading price.
