Trade Winds pulls high grade at Detour

Trade Winds Ventures (TWD-V) has discovered a new mineralized shoot on Block A of its Detour Lake gold property in northeastern Ontario, a 50% joint venture with Pelangio Mines (PLG-T).

Of five holes on section 16,740E, four intersected high-grade gold mineralization over variable widths. The mineralization was in the M Zone, an east-striking structural corridor that controls much of the mineralization on the property.

The best hole assayed 64.4 grams gold per tonne over 8 metres at about 90 metres vertical depth. The intersection represented a true width of about 6 metres. Three other zones were intersected higher up in the hole, with one running 11.4 grams per tonne over 4 metres (about 3 metres true width).

Another hole, drilled to intersect the structure at a slightly shallower depth, intersected only 1.8 metres grading 1.4 grams per tonne.

Deeper on the structure, three succeeding holes cut 3 metres grading 46.6 grams per tonne, 0.5 metres grading 49.8 grams, and 0.5 metres grading 28.7 grams. There were also narrower and lower-grade intersections in the hanging wall of the M Zone, vertically above the high-grade shoot.

The high-grade shoot has now been drilled over a 100-metre vertical extent.
