GLR Resources (GLR-T) has received a new resource estimate for the Athona gold deposit, near Uranium City, Sask., adding to one already calculated for the nearby Box gold deposit.
Consulting firm Wardrop Engineering estimated the indicated resource at Athona at 7 million tonnes grading 1.3 grams gold per tonne. Another 1.4 million tonnes grading 1.1 grams per tonne is inferred.
A May 2006 resource estimate put the size of Box at 12.2 million tonnes at an average grade of 1.7 grams per tonne, measured and indicated, with another 2.1 million tonnes of inferred material grading 1.4 grams per tonne.
The two indicated resources, taken together, are just short of a million ounces. A feasibility study by Wardrop continues.
GLR submitted an environmental impact statement to the Saskatchewan government earlier in February, and is awaiting review before the document is put out for public comment.
