Initial cores from Northair’s El Reventon show strong silver

Vancouver – The first drill results from International Northair Mines‘ (INM-V) El Reventon project in Mexico are in and show strong near-surface silver mineralization.

Northair completed six holes in its phase one program before the onset of the rainy season, focused on the Reventon breccia zone. All six holes hit mineralization.

The strongest results came from hole five, which intersected 179 grams silver per tonne, 0.94% lead, and 0.89% zinc over 33.5 metres from surface and included 16.8 metres grading 253 grams silver. Hole one returned 84.5 grams silver, 0.44% lead, and 1.11% zinc over 56.4 metres from 1.5 metres downhole, including 24.4 metres of 116 grams silver, 0.62% lead, and 0.88% zinc.

Northair president and CEO Fred Hewitt says the intrusive breccia zone appears to be 60 to 80 metres in true thickness. It is still laterally open in all directions but only outcrops in one spot, the rest hidden by post-mineral volcanics.

The Reventon zone contains a diorite porphyry intrusive breccia as a near-surface inclined tabular feature dipping moderately to the northeast. It is one zone within the 3,500-hectare project that also contains several other targets, including the partially-developed Estrella mine 2.2 km southwest, the San Genaro prospect 2 km to the northeast, and the nearby Los Alisos zone.

The project lies within the Sierra Madre Occidental in the state of Durango along a series of occurences along a northeast trending belt. There is good road access to the site, which is some 170 km northwest of the capital city of Durango.

Northair acquired the large El Reventon property during 2006 through staking and the option to acquire a 100% interest in a 60-hectare concession by paying US$150,000 over four years.
