Andean American reports new result at Invicta in Peru

Additional infill diamond drilling at Andean American Mining‘s (AAG-V) Invicta exploration project in Peru, has yielded some promising intersects.

Drill hole 07-34 intersected 8.09 metres grading 7.19 grams per tonne gold, 196.2 grams per tonne silver, and 0.95% copper, at depths of between 134 and 146 metres.

Drill hole 07-34 intersected the Atenea structure about 125 metres below surface.

Drilling has been focused on Atenea, which is the most advanced of the eight targets Andean has identified at Invicta’s advanced exploration project. Atenea is about 3,400 metres above sea level.

The news sent Andean American’s shares on the TSX Venture Exchange up 10 apiece to 69 on a trading volume of 329,250.

Invicta a low-sulphidation epithermal-style gold-silver-copper mineralization–covers 222 sq. km in west-central Peru’s Huaura province, about 250 km northeast of Lima.

The current National Instrument 43-101 resource is 4.74 million tonnes grading 2.73 grams per tonne gold, 18.3 grams per tonne silver, and 0.45% copper in the measured and indicated categories, and 6.09 million tonnes grading 1.44 grams per tonne gold, 15.7 grams per tonne silver and 0.53% copper in the inferred category.

Andean American also holds two other projects in Peru. It owns 67% of Sinchao Metals, which has a zinc-copper-silver-gold-lead mineralization project, and it owns the 90-sq.-km Santa Rosa property, which is a small producing open-pit mine.
