Nevada Copper gets ready for resource update at Pumpkin Hollow

The final drill holes from Nevada Copper‘s (NCU-T) 26,000-metre drill program at Pumpkin Hollow included an interval of 9.1 metres grading 6% copper and 1.7 grams gold per tonne in the E-2 deposit.

The company plans to update its resource estimate for Pumpkin Hollow, located an hour and a half by car southeast of Reno, before the end of the second quarter. Nevada Copper is also planning to do a feasibility study this year.

The 9.1-metre intercept was contained in a 41.5-metre intercept grading 3.24% copper and 1 gram gold per tonne, 15.1 grams silver and 29.6% iron. (26.6 metres true length)

Another E-2 highlight was a 13.6-metre intersection grading 1.75% copper and 0.16 gram gold per tonne, 8.5 grams silver, and 28/1% iron. (6.8 metres true length)

Over in the East deposit, of note was a 38.1-metre intercept grading 3.24% copper, 0.36 gram gold per tonne, 7.9 grams silver and 16.9% iron, including, 14.9 metres grading 5.37% copper.

Drill results reported today focused on the E-2 and East deposits and only holes with intercepts higher than 1% copper were reported.

Nevada Copper says the drill program helped to confirm continuity or define the boundaries of the high grade mineralization.

Combined, these two deposits have a measured resource of 6.5 million tons grading 1.91% copper, an indicated resource of 19.6 million tons grading 1.78% copper and an inferred resource of 13.7 million tons grading 1.59% copper. The project also has an open pit measured and indicated resource of 53.2 million tons iron and an inferred resource of 91.4 million tons of iron.

The E-2 and East deposits are included in the overall Pumpkin Hollow resource: Measured and indicated resources are 342,000 tons grading 0.58% copper for 4 billion lbs. copper, plus 635,000 oz. gold and 26.6 million oz. silver. Inferred resources total 438,000 tons grading 0.45% copper for 3.9 billion lbs. copper, plus 647,000 oz. gold and 30.6 million oz. silver.
