Chase tests Taysan project

More drilling is under way at the Taysan copper-gold porphyry project in the Philippine province of Batangas.

Chase Resource (TSE) plans to drill 10 holes in a roughly 2,000-metre program in order to test a high-grade, near-surface zone west and southwest of the proven reserve block.

In 1992, the Taysan deposit was estimated to contain a proven and probable reserve of 336 million tonnes grading 0.31% copper and 0.31 gram gold per tonne.

Chase hopes to outline a starter pit, as well as boost reserves and grades.

Recent drill results from the high-grade zone include 94 metres grading 0.71% copper and 0.65 gram gold in hole 26; 134 metres grading 0.64% copper and 0.41 gram gold in hole 27; and 301 metres grading 0.48% copper and 0.16 gram gold in hole 30. All the intersections started at or near the surface.

In conjunction with the drilling, Chase is conducting metallurgical tests and compiling a technical report for circulation to interested companies.

The junior also plans to test large, magnetic anomalies in the Taysan West, Taysan North and Bacal Hill areas.
