Louvicourt wins rescue competition

The Louvicourt mine near Val d’Or, Que., took top spot in Quebec’s provincial mine rescue competition in early June.

The annual event is sponsored by the Quebec government’s Health and Safety Commission.

Four teams participated in the mine rescue competition, which followed regional events in the province. The other teams were from the Sigma, Doyon and Gaspe mines.

Louvicourt is owned by a joint venture involving Aur Resources, Novicourt and Teck.
