Drilling is expected to begin on the Blackdome mine property northwest of Clinton, B.C.
Claimstaker Resources (VSE) plans to test two areas, identified by surface drilling, for potential oreshoots.
The underground program will test the No. 11 vein area around hole 795, which intersected 3.9 ft. grading 2.26 oz. gold and 1.09 oz. silver per ton. The second area targeted is on the No. 18 vein, around the intersection in hole 797 which returned 4.1 ft. grading 0.94 oz. gold and 2.65 oz. silver.
The Blackdome mine milled its last ore in early 1991, and Claimstaker hopes to identify sufficient reserves to restart the 220-ton-per-day gravity-flotation mill.
The current 7-hole program is budgeted at 3,000 ft. Richard Somerville, chief executive officer, says there are literally dozens of other targets on the property begging to be tested.
Claimstaker has 7.2 million shares outstanding and $100,000 in working capital. Additional funds are being raised.
