Drilling planned for Atna ground

Drilling will begin in early August on the Foot, Pak and Toe claims in the Yukon.

Westmin Resources (TSE) will spend a minimum of $650,000 on the property this year under a four-year, $3-million option to earn a 60% interest from Atna Resources (TSE).

Atna’s claims are near Cominco’s ABM polymetallic discovery (14.3 million tons grading 5.5% zinc, 1% copper and 1.3% lead, as well as 3.65 oz. silver and 0.035 oz. gold per ton). Surface work on the Foot property has identified stratigraphy and mineralization similar to the Cominco deposit. Results from an airborne electromagnetic survey indicate the presence of conductive targets coincident with the favorable stratigraphy.
