Drilling on the Niblack project in southeastern Alaska has intersected a wide zone of mineralization similar to previously released results.
Abacus Minerals (VSE), which has an option to acquire the project, received results from four holes drilled on the Gold zone. The zone is described as a near-surface occurrence of predominantly pyrite-rich crystal tuffs related to massive sulphide mineralization in the Lookout zone.
Hole LO-54 intersected an oxide-rich cap from 28 to 88 ft. and three base metal-rich massive sulphide horizons for a total intersection of 163.7 ft. (from 28 to 191.7 ft.) grading 0.11 oz. gold, 1.31 oz. silver, 0.41% copper and 1.09% zinc.
Hole 54 is 28 ft. east-northeast of previously drilled hole 28, which intersected 220 ft. (from 14.1 to 234.8 ft.) grading 0.14 oz. gold and 1.43 oz. silver.
Hole 28 was drilled at 70! from horizontal at an azimuth of 40!.
Hole 54 was drilled at 85! from horizontal at an azimuth of 157!.
Hole 55, a geological hole, was drilled from the same setup as Hole 54, but at a 45! inclination due north. The hole, which is stratigraphically above 28 and 54, encountered several stringer zones of massive pyrite with negligible base or precious metal values.
Holes 56 and 57 were collared off the same setup as hole 30, which intersected 171.2 ft. (from 191.3 to 362.5 ft.) grading 0.07 oz. gold.
Hole 56 intersected roughly 200 ft. of semi-massive-to-massive pyrite with low base and precious metal values, while hole 57 returned an 11-ft. massive sulphide intersection from 331 to 342 ft. grading 0.052 oz. gold, 0.4 oz. silver, 4.65% copper and 4.4% zinc.
Abacus has moved the drill to test other targets on the property.
