While looking for diamonds in Ontario’s James Bay Lowlands, partners KWG Resources (ME) and Spider Resources (ASE) have stumbled upon sulphides.
Many of the companies’ drillholes found not kimberlite, but felsic-to-mafic volcanics with varying amounts of sulphide mineralization. The partners are in the final stages of planning a late-summer exploration program to evaluate the base and precious metal potential of the recently discovered volcanogenic greenstone belt hidden beneath the region’s Paleozoic sediments.
An electromagnetic survey has identified a shallow conductor at least 700 metres long, and a ground electromagnetic survey will follow in August.
