A 6,600-ft. program of reverse-circulation drilling is set to begin on Birim Goldfield’s (CDN) Aboronye-Mampon gold property in Ghana.
The work will focus on the Mampon oxide zone, which measures 2,600 ft. long by 260-820 ft. wide.
Trenching by BHP Minerals in 1992 defined a resource of 1.3 million tons averaging 0.04 oz. gold per ton with oxide mineralization estimated to extend to a depth of 130 ft. Birim is upgrading and increasing the resource to a drill-indicated reserve.
In the same country, Birim is exploring the Dunkwa gold property, which is a joint venture with Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE).
