Preliminary drill results from the San Acacio property in Mexico are returning silver values for Silver Standard Resources (VSE).
The program is testing the near-surface potential of the property’s San Acacio vein.
The drilling tested 1,100 metres of strike length on 100-metre centres along the structure to a depth of 30 to 50 metres below surface. The vein dips 70-80! to the southwest.
Most of the intersections included shorter intervals of backfill material within old stopes from previous mining operations.
Backfill grades ranged from a 2.1-metre intersection grading 96 grams silver per tonne in hole 20, up to 601 grams silver over 7 metres in hole 11.
