Gold resource is boosted at Brisas

The gold resource at the Brisas alluvial concession in southeastern Venezuela has been increased by 30%.

Gold Reserve (TSE), owner of a 91% interest in Brisas, has added copper and gold from the northern part of the deposit’s Pozo Azul zone, thereby raising metal totals to 3.6 million oz. gold and 608 million lb. copper.

The previous resource estimate of 79.3 million tonnes grading 1.23 grams gold per tonne and 0.21% copper has been increased to 122.2 million tonnes grading 0.92 gram gold per tonne and 0.23% copper.

The estimate does not include mineralization from the Laguna Donna area, mineralization below 210 metres or anything from the southern part of the 500-hectare concession. Ongoing infill drilling may also add to the totals, once assay results are received.

“We believe there is considerable potential to expand the size of the resource,” says Gold Reserve President Rockne Timm. “The company’s main focus is to define the resource at Brisas.”
