Juniors continue exploration in Ontario’s Matheson region

Exploration continues along the eastern extension of the Destor-Porcupine fault zone. Teddy Bear Valley Mines (TSE) has taken an option on a property on the boundary between Cook and Guibord twps., 20 km southeast of Matheson.

Quartz veins with gold occurrences were first discovered on the property in the 1930s. The showings, just south of the main Destor-Porcupine fault, were largely high-grade (up to 99 grams gold per tonne) but narrow.

Shallow drilling in the 1970s resulted in similar values. Teddy Bear says its program will test for “more substantial mineralization at depth.” North of the property, on the Munro-Pipestone fault, lie the Fenn-Gib property of Pangea Goldfields (TSE) and the adjacent joint venture of Tandem Resources (ME) and NAR Resources (ME).

Barrick Resources (TSE) and Nufort Resources (TSE) have three drills operating on their Michaud Twp. joint venture, southwest of Patrician Gold Mines’ (TSE) Winteroad property and the Buffonta property, owned by companies in the Perron group.
