Discovery of a new zone south of the main deposit on the Chevier property near Chibougamau, Que., is expected to boost the project’s resources, reports GeoNova Explorations (GNE-M).
Hole 126 intersected the structure over about 40 metres at a depth of 100 metres. One 5.4-metre intersection graded 6.6 grams per tonne, and more assays are forthcoming.
The Chevrier deposit is estimated to contain 1.1 million tonnes grading 6.4 grams gold.
The new zone is on the Fancamp block, held 65% by Inmet Mining (IMN-T) and 35% by Fancamp Resources (FNM-V). GeoNova is earning a 100% interest in Inmet’s stake in the property.
Earlier this year, the zone was intersected over a core length of 100 metres and returned grades ranging from 2.2 to 9.3 grams gold.
