Alaskan mine to provide housing

Coeur d’Alene Mines and a native corporation, Goldbelt, will work together to build and maintain up to 102 housing units for residents of Juneau, Alaska.

The project will form one phase of the construction of the Kensington gold mine, 45 miles northwest of the town. The units will be built by local contractors.

Annual production from the mine, which is in the final stages of permitting, is projected at 200,000 oz.
