MEXICO AND CENTRAL AMERICA — American Manor evaluates Panamanian gold property

Halifax-based American Manor (ANO-A) has begun drilling for gold and silver in central Panama’s Colon province.

The company is carrying out a planned 10,000-ft. program on the Santa Rita concession. The 6,175-acre property lies in an area of rugged topography underlain by Cretaceous tuffs and andesites.

Drilling is focused on a 1,100-by-1,200-metre soil anomaly in the southwestern part of the concession. The first hole returned consistent gold and silver values, though core recovery for the top of the hole was poor. The company therefore plans to redrill the upper portion in an attempt to achieve better recovery. The results from the bottom of the hole are pending, as are results from two other holes.

At presstime, the company was attempting to secure a second drill rig.

Previous work consisted of 125 auger holes in tuffs, which yielded several gold anomalies.
