Using grease tables to process screened alluvial gravels from its claims in southwestern Wyoming, Guardian Enterprises (GUD-V) has recovered 40 diamonds with a total parcel weight of 2.3 carats.
The stones, recovered from a 200-lb. sample, are believed to have a source other than the 10 kimberlite diatreme pipes discovered in 1995. A ground geophysical survey is under way, and the company has staked additional ground to cover prospective target areas.
The claim blocks cover some 240 sq. miles.
