THE DIAMOND PAGE — Australian junior searches for gems

At the Blina alluvial diamond project in Western Australia, Kimberley Diamond (KDC-V) has recovered 14 diamonds weighing a total of 6.3 carats.

The diamonds were taken from 9 tonnes of heavy concentrate derived from a 250-tonne sample of gravel taken from Pit 5. Processing of samples from eight other pits continues.

Mapping near Pit 5 indicates the gravel is related to an ancient river channel, which can be traced in scattered surface exposures over a distance of 6 km.
