Satisfied with the title to the Cerro Samenta copper porphyry property in the Argentine province of Salta, partners Teck (TEK-T) and Mansfield Minerals (MDR-V) have signed a drilling contract for 10 holes totalling 3,000 metres.
A 40-man camp has been built on the property, and drilling will begin in early November.
Teck is the operator and can earn a half-interest from Mansfield by spending US$7.5 million and paying US$1.6 million over five years.
An Argentine mining judge recently upheld that the Cerro Samenta property belongs to Mansfield following a dispute over the way the property was surveyed.
