DIAMOND BRIEFS — Diagem markets Brazilian stones

Vancouver-based Diagem International Resource (DGM-V) has released production figures from the Juina alluvial diamond operation in Brazil’s Mato Grosso state.

Production of diamonds in March was 11,723 carats, including individual stones of 30.6, 27.6, 17 and 14.4 carats. Some of these large stones are not of gem quality, the company notes in a press release.

Diagem has sold all its stock with the exception of its 100- and 312-Carat stones. The company holds a half interest in the processing, sorting and marketing of diamonds from Juina.

Exploration for kimberlite sources of the Juina diamonds has commenced. The company has employed an experienced diamond geologist to manage the exploration program.
