A first phase of diamond drilling is in full swing on the Anamar-Princesa gold property in north-Central Chile.
Southwestern Gold (SWG-T) reports that small-scale mining in the past produced ore grading an average of 8 grams gold per tonne.
Two main zones have been identified: Anamar and Princesa Gossan.
* Anamar zone — This northwest-Trending structure lies within an untested, 300-Metre-wide structural zone. Known mineralization is 4 metres wide and exposed over 100 metres vertically. The potential strike length is said to be 800 metres.
Chip sampling from the lower portion of the southern adit averaged 0.298 gram gold plus 0.2% copper from 11 samples. Samples from the glory hole area averaged 3.58 grams gold and 0.38% copper.
In the northern adit, nine chip samples averaged 0.33 gram gold and 0.27% copper.
Samples from the western portion of the northern zone averaged 1.12 grams gold and 0.44% copper. One of these returned 1.16 grams gold and 2.57% copper.
* Princesa Gossan — This structure lies west of Anamar and appears to be bounded by two west-Northwest-Trending structures 240 metres apart. The mineralization has been traced for 250 metres along strike and is covered on both ends.
Southwestern can acquire the property outright by paying US$1 million over 37 months for the Princesa portion and US$2.5 million over 36 months for the Anamar portion.
