Although the nickel values remain uneconomic, NDT Ventures (NDE-V) is encouraged by the latest drill data from its projects in Labrador.
On Project 11-3, a joint venture with Essex Resource (ESX-V), hole 23-11 was drilled to 468 metres, intersecting 412 metres of foliated and layered leuconorite with sections of layered troctolite. A 6.1-Metre section of massive and near-Massive sulphides, drilled at a depth of between 38 and 44 metres, averaged 0.16% nickel, 0.34% copper and 0.06% cobalt. Several other narrow zones, as deep as 119 metres, showed similar values.
In conjunction with the drilling, a deep-penetrating magnetotelluric survey was carried out. The survey identified a strong conductor 1.3 km to the north of hole 23-11, and NDT and Essex have since budgeted to drill a deep hole in this location.
At nearby Project 15-1, a joint venture with Aranlee Resources (ARB-V), a 1,053-Metre-deep hole was completed. Sulphides constituted 1-3% of the upper 500 metres of the hole, but the hole did not intersect any economic sulphide minralization.
