Drilling is in progress at the Doyle Lake diamond property in the Northwest Territories.
Gerle Gold (GGL-V) holds a 40% operating interest in the property under the direction of Monopros, a wholly owned subsidiary of De Beers Consolidated Mines (DBRS-Q).
Robert Helgason, Gerle’s investor relations officer, described the program as a “one drill operation,” adding that the targets were selected based on results from summer drilling.
The program is focused on the LA 1-25 claims, though, to date, no kimberlite pipe has been found there.
Last year, drilling traced a 0.2-to-5.7-metre-thick kimberlite sill over 1.3 km. A 4-hole, 125.2-kg composite sample returned 67 microdiamonds.
The northern boundary of the claim group lies within 300 metres of a kimberlite recently discovered by Monopros on the Mountain Province claims.
