Bengt Lofkvist, vice-president of exploration and business development for Boliden, will be the guest speaker at the Nov. 20 luncheon hosted by the Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy & Petroleum.
Incorporated last spring, the company acquired the mining, smelting and metal fabrication assets of Trelleborg AB of Sweden.
In June 1997, 55% of the company was sold to the public for $880 million. Boliden also established its corporate head office to Toronto.
Lofkvist will outline some of the company’s exploration highlights, provide an update on the Los Frailes zinc mine in Spain, and review the company’s financial situation.
