MINING MARKETS AND INVESTMENT NEWS — Asia Pacific insiders keep active

The Ontario Securities Commission’s April 3 OSC Bulletin shows insiders of Asia Pacific Resources (APQ-T) were active traders of the company’s shares in mid-February.

Crew Holdings, holder of more than 10% of Asia Pacific, bought 142,200 shares at $2.45-2.70 to hold 5,168,945; John Darch, director, sold 765,000 shares directly at $2.60-2.75 and bought 307,200 shares indirectly at $2.45-2.70 to hold 189,500 directly and 6,434,891 indirectly; Gerald Wright, director, sold 516,200 shares at $2.70-2.75, sold 10,000 shares indirectly at $2.69 and bought 124,200 shares at $2.45-2.70 to hold 409,460 directly and 5,777,393 indirectly.

Other transactions reported on April 3 include:

* BMR Gold (BGL-T) — Frank Varseveld, director, acquired 150,000 shares at 10cents and disposed of 102,500 shares at 9-14cents to hold 641,804 directly and 76,700 indirectly.

* Dia Met Minerals (DMM-T) — Peter Atkinson, director, exercised 50,500 Class A options at $11.25 and sold them at $24-24.25 to hold 153,500 options and 275 shares; Keith Christofferson, director, sold 9,200 Class B shares at $28.05-28.75 and 6,050 Class A shares at $24.10-24.35 to hold none.

* Queenstake Resources (QTR-T) — James Mancuso, director, bought 100,000 shares at 54-58cents to hold 1,070,000.
