Simons Mining Group and Aboriginal Engineering Ltd. (AEL) have signed an agreement in anticipation of increased development activity in the diamond district of the Northwest Territories.
The fit is a comfortable one, say the companies: Simons, a large engineering firm, is already involved with the development of the Ekati diamond mine of BHP Minerals Canada and Dia Met Minerals, whereas AEL has local knowledge and technical abilities such as surveying, geotechnical design, environmental management and drilling.
