Contest set for Fernie

The town of Fernie, B.C., will play host to the North West Regional Mine Rescue Competition, to be held Sept. 10 and 11.

The competition, the fourth to be hosted in the city, will include first aid, recovery and obstacle contests, as well as bench and written components. Organizers say the competition will draw 18 mine rescue teams from across North America, as well as 400-500 spectators.
