Corriente drilling at Cerro Tasna

Diamond drilling is under way at the Cerro Tasna gold project in southwestern Bolivia.

Corriente Resources (CTQ-T) is conducting the 2,000-metre program in an effort to test the main target area, which is typified by the presence of quartz-bearing breccias and veins containing gold mineralization exceeding 1 oz. per ton.

Corriente hopes to intersect large-scale feeder zones as well as stockwork mineralization in the demagnetized zone.

Meanwhile, the company has identified underground workings that will allow it to test targets at Tasna as far as 1 km into the hillside and over half a kilometre from the surface without any major underground expenses.

The Bolivian government has amended the lease arrangements at Tasna to allow Corriente a 25-year lease for the claims covering its gold targets.
