Reconnaissance drilling on the Cirque property, south of Fairbanks, Alaska, has returned massive sulphide mineralization over narrow widths for partners
The 6-hole program tested the high-grade polymetallic surface showings on the Discovery and Dol zones over 311 metres.
Four holes tested the Discovery zone, which is hosted in carbonaceous shales at the contact with rhyolite schist. The first hole yielded the best results, including 5.5 metres averaging 8.08% zinc, 2.11% lead and 1.36% copper, as well as 2.84 grams gold and 74.45 grams silver per tonne. Within that interval, 2 metres graded 8.47% zinc, 2.36% lead, 0.66% copper, 0.91 gram gold and 47.78 grams silver.
The second hole intersected a mineralized lens, returning 3.1 metres averaging 9.44% combined zinc-lead-copper. Hole 3 returned no significant mineralization and, according to the company, may have been drilled under the plunge of the mineralization. Hole 4 tested the zone 25 metres east of hole 1, and encountered leached mineralization with low polymetallic values.
The Dol zone, tested by two holes, is hosted in a dolomite horizon with interbedded shale and is intermittently exposed for 500 metres. Holes 5 and 6 tested the zone to a depth of 30 metres. Hole 6 returned 7 metres grading 2.05% zinc, 0.2% lead, 0.08% copper, 0.12 gram gold and 4.35 grams silver.
Follow-up drilling is planned.
