We currently require an experienced professional to join our corporate team in Montreal.

Director, Metals Marketing

You will be responsible for the negotiation and administration of ongoing sales of zinc and copper concentrates and the direction of ferroalloy (niobium) sales under terms of existing sales and agency agreements. You will be involved in seeking out sales opportunities and negotiating both long-term and spot contracts for Cambior. In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination of the traffic function, invoicing and contract administration. This position involves significant travel and will be based in Montreal.

You will undergo an appropriate transition period with the current Director, scheduled to retire next year, and will report to the Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration.

Interested candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience relating to international marketing of base metal concentrates and/or ferroalloys. You must also have a minimum of ten years of pertinent experience and the ability to work in a bilingual (English-French) work environment.

Resource Geologist

Reporting to the Director, Minerals Oil and Gas, you will be a part of a team that provides education, funding, and field support for prospectors as well as facilitating information flow between communities, industry, the Division and the Department. You will also have knowledge of the geology and mineral industry of Nunavut, pertinent mining legislation and the Nunavut Land Claim Agreement.

You will have a Bachelor of Science in geology or geological engineering and be registered or the ability to become registered in an association of professional geoscientists. You should have at least five years of relevant work experience in geological mapping, core logging, prospecting, geophysics, and geochemistry including a good working knowledge of mineral deposits and their environments. You should also have experience in community relations in a cross-cultural setting, public presentations, and administration including supervising staff and contract personnel, financial management and information reporting procedures.

Salary starts at $65,644.00 plus a Northern Allowance of $8,872.00
