Greystar tallies resource

With another 44 holes sunk, Greystar Resources (GSL-T) is recalculating the resource figure for its Angostura gold-silver project in northeastern Colombia.

The Vancouver-based junior has now drilled 181 holes, or 51,970 metres. The latest, AL99-14, marks the conclusion of the 1999 drill program. Like previous holes, AL99-14 returned multiple intercepts, including:

  • 1.7 metres (from 32.6 to 34.3 metres) grading 1.22 grams gold per tonne;
  • 4 metres (52-56 metres) grading 1.75 grams;
  • 2 metres (69-71 metres) grading 1.65 grams; and
  • 19 metres (134-153 metres) grading 2.41 grams, which includes 2 metres of 14.6 grams.

Hole AL99-14 was collared in the northern periphery of Alta, one of three zones that host the property’s resources; the others are known as Veta de Barro and Los Laches.

Earlier this year, Mine Development Associates of Reno, Nev., calculated a resource of 90.79 million tonnes grading 1.52 grams gold and 5.63 grams silver, based on a cutoff grade of 0.7 gram gold. The revised estimate will be announced in mid-November.
