Norrliden returns high-grade zinc

North Atlantic Natural Resources, the Swedish subsidiary of South Atlantic Resources (SCQ-V), has intersected higher-than-expected grades at the Norrliden copper-zinc deposit in northern Sweden.

Highlights from the infill program, part of a prefeasibility study, include:

  • 16.9 metres averaging 11.4% zinc and 0.9% copper, plus 50 grams silver and 1.9 grams gold per tonne;
  • 8.9 metres of 12.5% zinc, 0.9% copper, 160 grams silver and 1.9 grams gold;
  • 2.4 metres of 23.2% zinc, 0.3% copper, 230 grams silver and 0.5 gram gold; and
  • 1.8 metres of 24.1% zinc, 1.5% copper, 285 grams silver and 1.2 grams gold.

North Atlantic says that, in the event of a production decision, ore from Norrliden could be processed at a new mill and concentrator that have been proposed for the nearby Storliden deposit. Storliden has a combined indicated and inferred resource of 1.8 million tonnes grading 10% zinc, 4% copper, 29 grams silver and 0.3 gram gold.
