Pittsburgh, Pa.-based Allegheny Technologies has sold the North American operations of distribution company Titanium Industries to a new company led by the latter’s management.

Allegheny will retain titanium service centres in the U.K., Germany and France, as well as a titanium wire plant in Pennsylvania.

The company generated $2.5 billion in revenue in 2000 and employs more than 11,000 worldwide.
