Semafo pours gold

Montreal-based junior Semafo (SMF-T) is celebrating its graduation to gold-producer status.

On April 25, the company poured its first-ever ingot, weighing 8.8 kg, from its Kiniero open-pit gold mine in Guinea, West Africa.

Kiniero will produce 60,000 oz. gold per year over 2.5 years, based on current reserves. It was built on budget for US$12.4 million and is being operated by contractor BCM Ltd.
