Ore-grade gold mineralization has been encountered in three drill holes put down in an initial program on Silverside Resources’ Garrison Twp. property in northeastern Ontario.
President Leith Hellens says the results are significant because the values were cut 150 ft vertically below previously known mineralization. The mineralization is also open along strike and at depth.
The results from the three holes are as follows: Hole # length of oz gold
intersection per ton
(ft) 86-G-2 10 0.157 86-G-5 10 0.13 including 5 0.228 86-G-5 10 0.10 including 5 0.168 86-G-7 10 0.17 including 5 0.316
To date 200,000 tons of drill- indicated reserves grading 0.175 oz have been outlined. Of that, about 40,000 tons grading 0.24 oz over an average width of 18 ft are considered open-pitable.
Mr Hellens says the property, which is optioned from Kerr Addison Mines, potentially contains 1.6 million tons of material grading 0.17 oz. The next phase of drilling, already under way, will be directed toward proving up additional tonnage.
