Correction (April 14, 2003)

In 2001, Australian consulting firm GRD Minproc — not Canada’s SNC Lavalin (SNC-T) — prepared two definitive feasibility studies of the Rosia Montana gold-silver project in Romania. The project is held by Gabriel Resources‘ (GBU-T).

SNC completed an optimization study for a 13-million-tonne-per-year mine at Rosia Montana in February 2002, and then completed basic engineering and additional work in February 2003.

Also, a photo accompanying the story showed workings at the Rosia Poieni copper-gold porphyry, immediately northeast of Gabriel’s Rosia Montana gold-silver deposit, near the Romanian town of Rosia Montana.

Incorrect information appeared in our issue of March 24-30, 2003.
