The highflyer on the COATS circuit this week was Consolidatd Grandview Inc., which soared to $2.88-$3.13. It opened at $1.40 and last week was less than 50 cents . At last report, the company was involved with a program designed to evaluate gold tailings dumps in the Ashanti area of Ghana, Africa.
A takeover attempt at MacDonald Mines was successfully defended by the current management slate. The issue remained quiet at 45 cents -55 cents . Gateford Resources, which is drilling its large Samson River property east of Matagami, Que., was also unchanged at 55 cents -60 cents . Recent holes have identified a large, previously unknown, shear structure striking across the claims.
Seemar Explorations, which changed its name to Goldstake Explorations, posted a large gain to close at $1.63-$1.85. Last week the issue traded at 75 cents -85 cents . On the easier side, Blackstone Explorations gave up a nickel to 20 cents -30 cents . BYG Natural Resources, which has its Mt. Nansen property in the Yukon under option to Chevron, gave up some ground to 75 cents -85 cents .
