16 holes cut gold values on Cline’s Wawa-area property

Anomalous gold values were encountered with values ranging from 0.023 to 1.454 oz gold per ton in all of 16 holes drilled by Noranda Exploration on Cline Development’s Cline Lake property about 15 miles northeast of Wawa, Ont.

Widths of the intersections ranged from one to 45 ft with the highest grade value coming in the 1-ft section. The 45-ft section assayed at 0.024 oz.

The most significant intercept was in hole 86-15, the deepest hole drilled. It assayed 0.297 oz over a core length of 10.4 ft. This intercept was located in a quartz-carbonate shear zone in the footwall andesite. The hole is located on the Lake Zone in the north-central portion of the property, a zone that has not been previously tested.

Noranda can earn a 60% interest in the property by spending $400,000 by Aug 31, 1988. That would leave Cline with a 30% interest and Prophet Resources with 10%.

Noranda has spent more than $182,000 since signing the option agreement in May, says Cline President L. J. Bardswich. He says that although no further work is required until August, 1987, Noranda has said results are sufficiently encouraging to continue the program.

The Cline Lake property lies two miles northeast of the Kremzar property being developed by Canamax Resources and three miles northeast of the Magino deposit being explored by Muscocho Explorations.
