Teck earnings rose in quarter

The latest quarterly earnings for Teck Corp. included revenues from the David Bell mine at Hemlo which produced 23,100 oz gold during the period. Teck reported net earnings of $6.5 million or 12 cents per share for the three months ended Dec 31 compared to $5.4 million or 9 cents per share the year before.

Over-all revenues were $48 million compared to $51 million in 1985 and cash flow from operations totalled $16.8 million versus $14.9 million the previous year. Teck will equity account its share of Cominco earnings beginning Jan 1 of this year.
