Anomalous gold mineralization has been encountered by drilling on the Douay and Joutel twps., Que., gold property owned by Beaufield Resources. The best results from the three-hole program assayed 0.056 oz gold per ton across 5.8 ft. Although uneconomic, the results are deemed encouraging as they come from a brecciated chert and quartz carbonate vein zone, the company says.
A follow-up program is designed to further test the gold intersections and several gold geochemical anomalies, striking for 1 km further to the west. The geochemical anomalies occur on ground held in joint venture with Dejour Mines.
Beaufield will become the project operator on the joint ventured property and is starting a $200,000 drilling and geophysical program. Upon completion of the program, Dejour’s interest will be diluted.
Drilling on Beaufield’s 16-claim property in Quevillon and Franquet twps., also in Quebec, has intersected sulphide mineralization. Assay results are expected upon completion of the six-hole program.
